Please do NOT support ANY cuts in Social Security benefits, and please vote AGAINST keeping the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%.
Proposed cuts in Social Security, which would amount to "a cut of more than 5 percent and more as the years go by," would mean critical cuts to benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities for many retirees.
Why is this important?
As a retiree living primarily on Social Security, I am concerned about any "bargains" made by the White House with Congress that diminishes payments to people like me in an economy where prices and the cost of living continue to rise across the board.
Moreover, the top 2% do NOT need any more tax breaks, and the Bush tax cuts should NOT be extended!
