No Drilling in the Arctic and Atlantic

Some congressional leaders want to amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to give President-elect Trump the power to overturn President Obama's bans on oil and gas drilling for 115 million acres of the Arctic and 31 Atlantic canyons.

We can't take any chances with these beautiful, yet fragile environments. We need 40 votes in the Senate to keep Congress from amending the original legislation. Take action NOW.

Why is this important?

Invoking the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, which grants the president power to protect the places where drilling is most dangerous. President Obama declared a ban on all future oil and gas drilling for 115 million acres of the Arctic and 31 Atlantic canyons just last month.

Reversing the drilling ban would be dangerously irresponsible for this pristine wilderness and our planet. Yet Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Don Young (both of Alaska) are considering legislation to authorize President-elect Trump to overturn the bans once he takes office.

We must urge our Senators uphold the ban on offshore drilling in these regions. Add your name to our petition to keep the Arctic and Atlantic protected -- forever.
