No Obama cuts to Social Security

President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs. If Obama insists on pushing these cuts, then it's up to Democrats in Congress to say no. But standing up to a president of your own party isn't easy, and Democrats are unlikely to do it unless they hear from constituents.

Why is this important?

There are many people who are barely surviving on the little bit that they receive from social security. This includes the elderly and disabled.
