No Racists at the CFPB

Eric Blankenstein, a high-ranking political appointee at the Consumer Bureau, admitted to writing anonymous blog posts where he used the ā€œNā€ word and called hate crimes hoaxes. Racism has no place at the Bureau. He must be fired.

Why is this important?

Eric Blankenstein was put in charge of supervision, enforcement and fair lending at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. That means part of his job is making sure that financial companies do not discriminate in lending. It is absolutely unacceptable that someone promoting racial animus, can continue to serve in government, much less be responsible for protecting the public against lending discrimination.
