NYS RECALL Enactment and Accountability Law (REAL)

We the People of New York State hereby demand that our right to consent to be governed be recognized and restored.

To ensure accountability in government, to provide NY State residents with just recourse, and to provide a peaceful measure of security against elected officials who violate their Oath of Office, We direct our State Legislators to amend the NYS Constitution to include a provision protecting the RIGHT of a minority (10% of the number of voters in the respective election) to lawfully initiate a recall.

We are aware that several similar proposals have been allowed to languish and expire in legislative bureaucracy. This has undermined our ability to hold elected officials accountable, thus infringing on our Constitutional Rights.

*The NYS Senate and Assembly should consider this their official directive and call to action

**The NYS Governor is called upon to express his support for the voice of his constituents

Why is this important?

"To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the CONSENT of the governed- That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the RIGHT of the PEOPLE to ALTER or to ABOLISH it."
