President Obama: Investigate Civilian Deaths in Datta Khel Strike
Investigate and release information regarding the March 17, 2011 Datta Khel drone strike that killed more than 40 people.
Why is this important?
Three years ago, on March 17th, 2011, a U.S. drone strike hit the small town of Datta Khel in Pakistan killing a large number of tribal elders devastating the people of Datta Khel, as well as the surrounding communities.
Since this strike, one of the largest in history, the American government has yet to even acknowledge that the strike even occurred, or provide any other details on the incident.
When civilian deaths have been alleged, as they have been in Datta Khel, the public has a right to understand the merit of these allegations, and the government has a responsibility to tell us the truth.
