I advocate for broadband connections for Great Valley, NY residents; for many , there are no options or inadequate or cost prohibitive options for broadband. Southern Tier Broadband Western region is a program for access to broadband service and increasing broadband speeds through a WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) system to towns and villages in the counties of Chautauqua, Allegany, and Cattaraugus.
Why is this important?
As Town Historian for Great Valley, NY, I have encountered difficulty receiving and gathering media and data from contributors due inadequate access to broadband.
