Open full-time in-person instruction for K-12 students on January 11th, 2021

We strongly request the WJCC School Board provide the option of full-time in-person instruction for K-12 students starting January 11th while also allowing those who would like to continue virtual learning transfer to the WJCC Virtual Academy.

Why is this important?

The devastating impact "virtual learning" has had on some students and parents alike can no longer be ignored and it is time for the WJCC School Board to address these concerns. Many schools in Virginia and around the Country have remained open while following CDC guidelines and it is time for WJCC schools to follow suit. Please use the holiday break to allow parents to transfer their children to the WJCC Virtual Academy if they do not feel safe returning their children to in-person learning for the remainder of the school year. This time can also be using to finalize CDC recommended safety measures so that children can return to in-person learning full-time on the 11th of January if parents so choose. Closing schools should not be an option.

Reasons for signing

  • WE CAN GO TO WALMART, BUY ANY AND EVERYTHING AT ANY STORE BUT KIDS CANT GO TO SCHOOL THIS IS BS. No one hears any about private schools having A N Y PROBLEMS. If some one can tell me who I have to confront face to face tell me and I’m there. Seems like board needs to better research.
  • As a teacher, the students learn best in person! As a parent, kids needs in person teachers! It’s a relationship, a connection that best work together in person! Our kids emotional, academic and fundamental developmental skills depend on schools to grow. Moving forward has been proven it doesn’t work through a screen! Before Covid we were worried about too much screen time. So what makes this effective and better? We need to think logically and look at the data that matters!
  • My daughter needs to be back in school learning face to face. It’s her right to have a successful education and right now, that’s not happening. She can’t control both of her parents having to work and we can’t be on top of her while she’s at her computer. This needs to change.
