Parents and Grandparents Who Insist on a Ban against Assault Weapons and High Capacity Clips
The rights of people who own guns for collection, hunting, sports, or personal protection are secured under the 2nd Amendment. However, there is no need for any person or group outside of the US armed forces to own military-style assault weapons and high capacity clips. These are solely for the purpose of killing as many humans in as short a time as possible. We support the President's ban on the manufacture, selling, distribution and ownership of these weapons and clips outside of national military needs.
We did not give birth to our children, and invest in our grandchildren and other loved ones for them to senselessly be mowed down. Please sign this petition now and pass it along to all the mothers and grandmothers, fathers and grandfathers you know.

Why is this important?
President Obama asked for supporters of his proposed ban on assault weapons and high capacity clips to speak out in support, to send a message to Congress that our voices count more than gun lobbyist funding. This proposal aims to mobilize parents and grandparents to use their networks to send a loud message to Congress in support of the President's proposal.
