Joni Ernst, Republican candidate for the US Senate, sponsored a personhood amendment when she was in the Iowa state senate. The amendment banned abortions and some forms of contraception, but Ernst now claims it was just a statement of her beliefs.
Why is she lying about it? I demand she come clean and tell Iowans the truth about this amendment and her stance on the issues.
Why is this important?
I have daughters and granddaughters and I don't want any avenues closed to them because they are female -- which is what Joni Ernst tried to do with her "personhood" legislation!
