Adequately Fund Our Fire District
We, the undersigned Oakley residents, want our elected representatives to draft and pass legislation to create an Emergency Services Additional Revenue District (ESARD) as proposed by Oakley resident Mike Dupray (East Bay Times Aug 6, 2017 – see back for details).
Why is this important?
1) A GUARANTEE OF ADEQUATE FUNDING for opening one fire station annually for 3 years until we have 6 stations and later up to 10 stations
2) NO REDUCTION IN CURRENT TAX REVENUES for our local agencies as advocated by the East County Voters for Equal Protection
3) ESARD Board and California State Treasurer review of ECCFPD will help the Chief prevent MORE operational problems such as inadequate staffing and the unaccounted for $6 million lost then found
4) REDUCE RESPONSE TIMES for medical emergencies to save lives.
5) NO MORE FIRE/HOME INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASES by stopping houses from burning to the ground.
