Petition for a Special National Congress
We writing to you in accordance with Section 8.8.3 of the Lesotho Teachers Trade Union (LTTU) Constitution to formally request a Special National Congress. Per the constitutional mandate, this request must be submitted to the Secretary General along with a statement justifying the need for such an assembly. The Secretary General is then tasked with forwarding the request to the President within seven (7) days.
In adherence to the constitutional framework, we provide the following reasons for calling a Special National Congress:
· Failure to safeguard Union funds and members' finances related to ANTUSA Accommodation.
· Inadequate oversight and mismanagement, particularly concerning financial affairs.
· Irresponsible utilization of Union assets.
· Resignation of both the LTTU President and Treasurer.
· Proposed amendments to the Constitution.
· Formulation of resolutions.
In light of these concerns, we formally request the convening of a Special National Congress in accordance with our governing regulations. It is our belief that the current committees lack the ability to effectively fulfill the organization's mandate given these issues.
Why is this important?
