Petition for citizen's Vote on The Downtown Manchester Improvements Project
The proceeding of The Downtown Manchester Improvements Project must be halted until it is put to a vote by the residents of Manchester. The people who work on, live on, and go to school on Main St will all face the repercussions of these changes for however long each "phase" takes should it move forward. A special vote must be held about whether or not the plan should move forward.
Why is this important?
The Downtown Manchester Improvements Project has been set to move forward without any consideration being taken for the thoughts of actual Manchester residents or the businesses that make up its heart. Multiple Main St. business owners have already voiced their concerns about what it would mean for their customers bases should there be extended periods of time during which they would not be able to access their storefronts. with there having only been one year since the vote on the expansion of the Mary Cheney Library, it shows an immense lack of concern from the town on what the citizens think to lump in such drastic changes without the same respect for local democracy.
