Petition for Epic Games to Transition New Character Variants into Selectable Edit Styles

We are calling for a formal revision of the 'K-Pop Demon Hunter' Wave 2 distribution model. Specifically, Epic Games should transition the new outfit variations for Rumi, Mira, and Zoey from standalone, premium purchases into selectable edit styles for existing owners of the original skins. Rather than treating these as entirely new character entries in the Item Shop, they should be integrated as legacy rewards or 'loyalty styles.' If Epic Games wishes to offer them to new players, they should be sold as part of a single, unified character bundle that includes all variants, rather than requiring veteran players to pay a second time for a character model they already possess
Why is this important?
This change is critical for maintaining the trust and 'perceived value' of the Fortnite cosmetic ecosystem. Historically, Fortnite has thrived by rewarding its community with high-quality updates and styles that make players feel their investments are respected over the long term. By shifting toward a model that charges full price for outfit swaps on existing character models, Epic Games risks alienating its most dedicated supporters and creating a precedent of 'double-dipping' monetization. Ensuring these variants are offered as edit styles protects the brand's reputation for being consumer-friendly and ensures that players feel incentivized—rather than exploited—when new content is released for their favorite characters.
