The People of Los Angeles deserve transparency from their elected officials. We deserve a say in what is done with the land use and zoning within OUR communities. We OPPOSE Council File 12-0460-S4; Case No. CPC-2016-3182-CA; ENV-2016-3183-CE as this takes away many of the rights we as citizens, taxpayers, residents and stakeholders currently are entitled to when it comes to matters of zoning and land use. It further removes any say that the Neighborhood Councils currently hold with regards to Land Use and Planning and places power in the hands of a non-elected official( City Planner).

Why is this important?

The ANGER and DISSAPPOINTMENT of Los Angeles residents is at a boiling point. Our elected officials are slowly destroying our communities, eliminating our say in the matters that affect us and turning our once thriving neighborhoods into little more than what resembles a third world country. We OPPOSE Council File 12-0460-S4; Case No. CPC-2016-3182-CA; ENV-2016-3183-CE . Should this pass it will GIVE THE CITY PLANNER THE UNCHECKED POWER TO LOCATE THE HOMELESS ANYWHERE OUR POLITICIANS DEEM NECESSARY TO COVER POLITICAL LIABILITY! It give the City Planner the unchecked power of locating the Homeles. This POWER GRAB takes away many of the rights we as citizens, taxpayers, residents and stakeholders currently are entitled to regarding Land Use and zoning. It gives the City Planner 22 new powers not previously held. The Director of Planning will have the authority to waive Public hearings and would be given the ability to act to "interpret" ordinances passed by Council without a right of appeal back to Council asking for clarification. The approvals of historic monuments will be given to just the Director of City Planning. The Proposed Ordinanc would give the Director of Planning the power to reduce otherwise required parking by an additional 20%. Furthermore, the Proposed Ordinance does NOT INCLUDE the Neighborhood Councils in the authorities section with all of their Charter and LAMC powers, notices and rights. No exceptions. WE THE PEOPLE DESERVE A SAY IN WHAT HAPPENS IN OUR COMMUNITY!
