PETITION TO GET ADRIAN AUTRY TO STEP DOWN AS HEAD COACH OF SYRACUSE BASKETBALL
To The Syracuse University Athletic Department,
I would like to preface this petition by paying my homage to the Syracuse basketball greats, such as Adrian Autry. He was a great player and has great character as an individual and this is not a petition to make things personal. Being the head coach of Syracuse basketball is a job and, therefore, we must hold all individuals accountable for this years performance.
I have been watching Syracuse basketball since birth (31 years) and refuse to let the program go to waste as we have only made 1 NCAA tournament in the last 5 years.
We, the undersigned fans and supporters of Syracuse University Basketball, are presenting this petition to express our concerns regarding the current performance and leadership of Head Coach Adrian Autry.
Our reasons for this request are as follows:
Lack of Success on the Court: There is a growing sentiment among fans that the team has not performed up to the expectations set by Syracuse's storied basketball history. Recent games have not showcased the strategic coaching or player development needed to compete at a high level.
Recruitment vs. Coaching: While the program has managed to bring in a talented recruiting class, there seems to be a disconnect between recruitment and on-court coaching. Fans have expressed frustration that the potential of these recruits is not being fully realized under current leadership and that we could lose these recruits after 1 year of playing.
Fan Disappointment: Fans feel that the program's value and prestige are diminishing. Syracuse fans recall past instances where extended time was given to coaches without success, leading to long-term damage to the program. There's a call for timely action to prevent further decline.
We believe that Syracuse basketball deserves a leader who can not only attract talent but also elevate the performance of the team to its former glory. It's clear from the community's feedback that many fans feel Coach Autry may not be the right person for this role at this time.

The Syracuse University Athletic Department consider the widespread concerns of the fanbase. If deemed necessary, please explore options for new leadership to restore the program to its championship caliber.
