Petition to Repeal the Tampon Tax

We must repeal the Tampon Tax now. Period products are basic necessities, not luxury items, and people should not be forced to pay extra just to manage a normal bodily function. Legislation in Washington has stalled in the House for over a year, and that delay has gone on long enough.

The federal bill is called the Menstrual Equality for All Act of 2025-26, and it is the kind of action needed to finally end this unfair tax. This legislation would move us toward real menstrual equity by making period products more accessible and ending the outdated tax burden that affects students, workers, and families across the country.

At the state level, tampon tax still exists in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Several states also have active repeal efforts or pending legislation, including Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, where lawmakers are considering or introducing measures to remove the tax.

This is about fairness, dignity, and access. Sign this petition to show your support and help push this issue forward now. We need to repeal the Tampon Tax and end this burden immediately.

Why is this important?

People should join this change because the Tampon Tax is a direct hit on fairness and dignity. Period products are not optional, and taxing them treats a basic health necessity like a luxury good. When lawmakers delay action, families, students, and workers keep paying the price for a system that should have been fixed already.

Joining this fight means standing up for people who are carrying the heaviest burden. The cost adds up month after month, especially for low-income households and young people who already face barriers to staying in school, work, and daily life with confidence. Ending this tax is a practical, immediate way to reduce that strain and show that menstrual health matters.

People should join you because change only happens when enough voices demand it loudly and consistently. The federal legislation, the Menstrual Equality for All Act of 2025-26, needs public pressure behind it, and state-level repeal efforts need support too. Signing the petition says clearly that period products should be accessible, affordable, and tax-free, and that this fight should end now.
