Phone Ban

For safety reasons I feel like students should be allowed to have their phones during school hours. There are multiple factors leading to this. Students’ and Parents’ concern. A huge issue in today’s society is school shootings or school threats. Yes, the students should not have their phone out during class but during lunch if an issue (School Shooting, Threats, Etc.) was to occur than a Student might want to message or call their Parent and tell them something in case something happens. Another big concern is transportation. Students need time to communicate with parents about transportation. An example is if somebody needs a ride home instead of walking. Another great example is that if somebody has an item too big to carry onto the bus and need a ride home or need to tell their parents they are walking. For some people 6 minutes is not enough.
