Prosecute Conflicts of Interest Violations
Enforce North Dakota laws and compel Kevin Cramer and Brian Kalk to return campaign contributions that they have received from the industry that they are charged with regulating.
Why is this important?
Two members of North Dakota's Public Service Commission have taken campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry that they are supposed to be monitoring on behalf of the citizens of North Dakota, in direct violation of North Dakota law, yet the Attorney General refuses to prosecute, and the taxpayers are funding out of state law firms who have been retained by the PSC to defend lawsuits against these two individuals for those violations. The Governor has also failed to act, and there appears to be no one at the highest levels of state government who is willing to enforce the law.
