Protect Our Food Stamp Program
Funding for our country's Food Stamp Program is at risk of being cut by a record $17.4 billion. The goal of our Food Stamp Program has always been to reduce hunger, but by increasing job requirements, restricting what needy families can buy, and eliminating food stamps for our most vulnerable neighbors, hunger in our communities will only increase.
Why is this important?
Promise the Children supports the development of healthy children and families. Our nation's Food Stamp Program is an anti-hunger program whose only purpose is to help our most vulnerable neighbors eat. Restricting food stamps will only lead to more hunger and homelessness and these proposed cuts should be stopped.
