AARP should aggressively lobby Congress for Social Security & Medicare in the same manner as the National Rifle Association lobbies for firearms. It should promise to either support politicians or fund challengers for their office.
Why is this important?
These programs are vital to senior citizens and are targets for budget cuts in the future. Congress needs to protect and preserve these programs.
