Parents send their children away only in the most desperate circumstances. We need to welcome the children and protect them from the dangerous conditions they live under.
Why is this important?
As a daughter of holocaust survivors, sending the childeren back reminds me of the horrors of WWII when shiploads of Jews were turned away and returned to Europe for certain death. We are better than that. Hopefully, the US learned from that experience.
