All Health Care plans in the United States should be required to include contraception for women. No institution's religious beliefs should allow them to deny a women affordable access to contraception by excluding it from her health care plan. This policy discriminates against all women and in particular, low-income women who can't afford to pay retail prices for contraception. This is an issue of health and fairness, not religion.
Why is this important?
Currently, under the name of religious freedom, many Catholic run institutions like hospitals refuse to provide health insurance coverage for contraception for their women employees even if it is medically indicated for their health (even though 98% of Catholic Women have used contraception.) It is time for all women, including Catholic women, and the men who love them, to speak up and let their voices be heard about this issue.
