Protecting the integrity of Presidental elections
In Florida’s presidential elections, when a candidate gets a majority of the popular vote, he or she is then awarded 26 electoral votes, a model designed, in theory, to ensure every vote is counted.
A new proposal to count electoral votes by congressional districts will ensure the popular vote becomes obsolete and will make a mockery of what we Americans say sets us apart from dictatorships: Our right to have every one of our votes counted! Until we change the Constitution to abolish the Electoral College, the current system of winner-take-all must stand. We, the undersigned are solidly against eliminating democracy by counting electoral votes by district instead of having every vote counted in the winner-take-all electoral vote model we currently have.

Why is this important?
The present Electoral system has only failed three times to elect a president that had won the popular vote. If a system of awarding office by congressional districts is put in place, that once rare occurrence will become commonplace.
