REACH (Reach Every Mother and Child) Act

The REACH Act proposes reforms that hold USAID accountable for a smarter and more effective approach to saving more lives. It will require a more centralized and coherent strategy for spending which will focus on marginalized populations, scale up high-impact interventions, institute a coordinator to oversee operations, and to expand funding sources. Why is this important?

Through investments in development and improving health, the number of children who die each year before age five has halved since 1990. The REACH Act will continue this trend to help end preventable child and maternal deaths worldwide, by initiating a more efficient allocation of funds.
