Rebuilding life after divorce.

Please contact your local senators and ask that they draft new legislation on a time limit and fee cap for divorces of couples according to net/individual incomes. Make it illegal to have a plaintiff be forced to reside with the person they are divorcing, especially if marital assets can be liquidated to move on.

Why is this important?

It seems unconstitutional that indivduals have been denied the right to pursue happiness when their cases are dependent upon on them remaining in stressful living arrangements while litigious participants prolong the process. Legal staff recognize them, but the judicial machine is financially supported by these costly and frivolous motions. Families are kept in limbo and abusive individuals are allowed a forum for continued abuse. There must be a cap on the time and cost it takes to get a stipulation of settlement. Perhaps a percentage formula can be instituted in the law! One that addresses a cap on a divorce for certain income ranges, as well as new discussion about child support and factors such as comparable incomes between ex- spouses and the residence of the children.
