Reduce excessive prison sentence 80 years to 15

Man sentenced to 80 years prison for handing a bag of meth to another person who then gave it to a buyer. Man has no prior violent record. Man has no prior involvement with drug trafficking or gangs. Petition to reduce sentence to 15 years

Why is this important?

I am petitioning for the re-evaluation and reduction of a prison sentence for John Thomas Abney (Texas). Mr. Abney was sentenced to 80 years TDCJ for "actual delivery" of controlled substance. He was a backseat passenger in a vehicle at the time a front seat passenger handed 1/4 oz bag of meth to another person. For reference that is roughly a $20 street value. He has no prior violent history. No threats or weapons were involved. No trafficking. 80 YEARS- murderers and violent criminals in the local area are consistently getting under 40, frequently under 20, for much worse. This is not equal justice and the sentence is excessive for the crime. I am requesting consideration of a sentence reduction to 15 years TDCJ, for his proximity and actions in the event.
