The Department of Transportation shall review speed limits on a regular basis to determine if they are appropriate and set to encourage the smooth safe flow of traffic according to engineering principals and not politics.
Why is this important?
Arbitrary or obsolete speed limits encourage unsafe driving practices, such as following too closely or passing in unsafe situations. As County Highway Safety Chairman, I feel this needs to be addressed.
