Reinstate Funding to Counter Violent White Supremacy

In 2017, the White House significantly cut grants allocated to fight against acts of domestic terror perpetrated by white supremacists. Such funding previously supported efforts that encouraged white supremacists and neo-Nazis to leave these hateful groups and that countered the spread of white nationalist ideology among young people. As the number of violent acts committed by extremist hate groups continues to rise in the absence of this funding, we are calling on the Trump administration to reinstate these grants to resist white supremacy.

Why is this important?

As American minorities, we are directly endangered by hateful, violent white supremacy and neo-Nazis. The rise of these hate groups puts many American communities at risk of harm and encourages the continued marginalization of people of color, Jews, Muslims, the LGBTQ+ community, and others targeted by white supremacy.
