We are asking that the University of New Haven remove single use plastic straws in dining halls and replace them with ones made of biodegradable material.
Why is this important?
Single use plastic accounts for nearly half the plastic waste accounted for and is the largest contributor to plastic pollution. By removing plastic straws and replacing them with ones made of biodegradable material, we will be significantly reduce the amount of plastic waste on campus.
