This petition is in support of the Governor removing the “NO-PAROLE” stipulation off of Dimetrious Woods’ twenty-five (25) year sentence, for NON-VIOLENT DRUG POSSESSION.

Why is this important?

Dimetrious was given a sentence with no chance of parole, in light of being a prior drug offender (prior offense committed at age 18 years old). This statue has recently been taken out of Missouri Law and deemed excessive, by the Missouri Legislator, in Senate Bill No. 491. Dimetrious alleged co-defendant (who arguably solely culpable) was sentenced to thirty (30) years “WITH PAROLE”, despite having been convicted of a prior drug offense himself, due to a plea agreement with the state and has since been paroled and released from prison. Dimetrious, knowing he was in no way culpable for the drugs found in the vehicle, elected to go to trial, where he was penalized twofold, with not only a twenty-five year sentence, but also a “NO-PAROLE” attachment.
