Renew Extended Unemployment Benefits NOW
Many who were laid off in 2013 are still out of work and looking for a job on a daily basis. These 1.3 million Americans have already exhausted, or will soon exhaust, their regular unemployment insurance benefits. They desperately need Congress to renew extended benefits before the end of the year. They want to work and simply need some additional income support—on which they will pay taxes—while continuing to seek permanent, full-time employment.
Why is this important?
I am one of the 1.3 million American workers who would be out of unemployment benefits by the end of the year if Congress does not renew extended UI benefits right away. I lost my job 10 months ago and have been looking for a job each and every day since then. Sen. Rand Paul is dead wrong that getting extended benefits would be a "disservice" to those of us who are desperate to get back to work to support our families.
