Reopen SUNY Fredonia Erie Hall as Our Student Union

Students on the B-side side of campus, living in the suite style dorms are at a disadvantage because they are unable to easily enjoy what the A-side of campus offers. It is a safety hazard to have students walking 8-10 minutes to get to the dining halls during Fredonia's harsh winters. We also would like to create a student union that allows for all of campus to congregate and feel the sense of community that Fredonia has to offer. We plan to implement a mini cafe, a mural, a student lounge including TVs, couches, and printers, and a study area. Outside, we want to create a patio for the warmer months.
Why is this important?
We believe that this would not only increase enrollment for future years, but it would also increase students wanting to live in the suites. This would increase the quality of living on campus because it would create a space that harbors creativity and companionship. This space has a lot of potential, and instead of letting it become an eye-sore, we should create something that will benefit students, staff, and the community. Thank you for your support!
