Rep Huffman: Sign the Grayson-Takano Letter
Please co-sign the Grayson-Takano letter, which promises that you will vote against any cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits.
Why is this important?
More than a dozen members of Congress have already signed a letter to President Obama promising to vote against any cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits. It's important that Rep Jared Huffman show support for these programs by signing this letter. Here is an excerpt from that letter: "Voters across the political spectrum oppose cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits, and we must do whatever it takes to protect these vital benefits from cuts. That's why we write to let you know that we will vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits -- including raising the retirement age or cutting the cost of living adjustments that our constituents earned and need."
Costs can be cut by implementing such policies as allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices just like the Veterans Administration does, but benefits should not be cut. The Grayson-Takano letter is the only one that vows to vote against any bill that cuts Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits, and we urge Rep. Huffman to sign this letter.
