Revising background checks to flag specifically for violent or sexual crimes, not just any felony.
Why is this important?
I was denied a volunteer badge to attend my son's field trip, because I have a felony drug charge from 9 years ago. I don't believe parents with non-violent charges (misdemenor or felony) should be excluded in parciticpating in their children's school functions.
