Unpopular Governor Kathy Hochul has led the Democratic Party to the worst performance in NY State seen historically in decades as tenure, after winning reelection by only 7 points, reduced Trump's losing margin to 13 points, and allowed Republicans to make inroads on Long Island and Upstate, including by flipping several state legislative and congressional districts.
Governor Hochul has allowed this to happen because of a poor response to the concerns over the perception of crime in New York's urban areas, immigration straining city and state services, and failing to address the affordable housing crisis, or the cost of living increases since 2021.
Recently, she has instead pushed forward to implement congestion pricing in New York City.
It is clear from this that a new leader is needed at the top of the ticket, and a new Governor is needed to move the state forward.

As Congressman, he has worked to expand eligibility for Medicare, protect and expand Social Security, support family farmers and sustainable farming against large agribusinesses and factory farms, fund high-tech manufacturing projects across the state, support public school teachers, and address the climate crisis.
