Save Indian Creek's Left Turn

Local officials have decided to eliminate a left-hand (southbound) turn from Iowa Ave. that impacts homeowners without any input from said homeowners. It will create only one way to exit their neighborhood if they need to travel south thereby creating a traffic nightmare on Florida Ave. Councilman Kashmann’s office isn’t speaking with residents and is turning away concerns saying it’s a done deal (according to his aide Brent). Many residents have lived in the Indian Creek neighborhood for more than 20 years without incident at that intersection. We want to be heard!!!

Why is this important?

This decision was made without input from the community based on calls (311) from people who don’t even live in the Indian Creek proper neighborhood (Between Iowa and Florida and Quebec and Quebec Way) who use this turn on a regular basis without incident). The Indian Creek HOA was only notified of the meeting on 12/19 about traffic changes on Florida Ave. but when residents arrived they were told of this major traffic change on Iowa Ave., that it was approved and would happen next month. Other HOAs were not notified at all. We want the opportunity to voice our concerns and extreme dissatisfaction at not being included in any discussions or problem solving around what others consider a problem.
