The deficit has not been caused by Social Security and, by law, never can be. Medicare and Medicaid are also vital in these times. We need to raise revenue by going back to at least the Clinton-era taxes, instituting a tax on Wall Street, and taxing wages and capital income the same.
Why is this important?
Once again they are talking of a GRAND BARGAIN that will cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The middle class and the poor have been hammered for the last 30 years. It is time to reverse the trend and insure that all the citizen of the United States can have a measure of security and dignity.
