Save the City Park rides!

The citizens of Iowa City would like to petition the City of Iowa City to either save the City Park rides and move them to higher ground to protect them from future flood waters, or purchase new rides to continue the tradition of the City Park rides. We have all grown up with these rides, and are sad to see them go. We would like to see our children be able to grow up with these rides as well, and hopefully several generations after that, as these rides are a piece of Iowa City history.

Why is this important?

The City Park rides are scheduled to close at the end of this month, and there is no plan in place to save or replace the rides. We have all grown up riding these rides, and they are a piece of Iowa City history, and we would all hate to see them go. We would like our children and children of future generations to be able to enjoy these rides as we did growing up.
