Saving Oregon's Cougars

Oregon does not have 6000 cougar. Do the math.

How many cougar does Oregon really have? The truth is, we don’t know.

California kills around 73 adult cougars per year.

Oregon kills several hundred adult cougar per year and even more cougar cubs.

California has a decades old ban on killing cougar and they protect cougar cubs.

Oregon has killed more cougar without dogs than were killed with dogs before M18.

California is a bigger State, more open land, humans and wildlife but California’s cougar only number around 4000 and are declining.

Washington uses Oregon’s hunting plan. Their cougar have declined to about 1600.

According to Oregon State Police Stats, more cougar are poached than legally killed in our State.

Oregon's cougar cubs are not counted in the death stats.

To see a YouTube of Oregon Department Of Fish and Wildlife's failed cougar policy plans in action, view the Oregon State Police poaching stats, and to view California's cougar management plan; please visit Oregon Cougar Action Team at www.OreCat.org or visit us on FB.

Please vote NO on HB 2624, HB 2390, HB 3395, and SB 428. They are all the same bad policy.

Why is this important?

Oregonians demand an outside unbiased peer review (NOT ODFW’s “review”) of Oregon’s cougar management plan and an accurate cougar population count.  We need to be assured that our vote for Measure 18 is being honored!  We need to take a step in a better direction and start protecting these great cats!

Oregon’s Cougar Management plan isn't working.  It never has.  It is a failed plan with failed policies.
