There are currently 8 bills awaiting passage through the Maine legislature regarding the East-West highway (and Utility Corridor). Would those of us who wish to keep this corporate road which benefits Canadian and multinational investors out of our backyards, join in sending a message to our legislators and Gov. LePage.
Why is this important?
I have been personally researching this "private" highway since last April. I can see no long-term benefits to Mainers. We are simply the easiest way for way for big investors to get products out to foreign markets, while opening Maine up for resource extraction to those same markets.
