The current version of the Electoral College is a distortion of the presidential selection process envisioned by the framers of the Constitution, and it interferes dangerously with the popular vote for President. The current Electoral system gives voters in some part of the country far greater voting power than others, results in large number of votes not being counted, discriminates against minority voters, discourages voter turn-out, and opens the door to outside interference and voter suppression in Presidential elections. The Electoral College is a historical relic that no longer serves any legitimate purpose.

Redistribute the power to set annual refugee admissions by including, not only, the President but also the House of representatives and the Senate, in order to create a form of checks and balances for this essential process.

We students of Dartmouth believe that Marissa Evans should be evaluated for her Honors thesis based on the quality of her work. We believe the circumstances explained to us do not warrant such heavy penalization as to jeopardize her future. We concede that this maintains fairness to her alongside other students of Dartmouth.

Immigrant agricultural workers and their families are valuable members of our rural communities and the nation's economy. They belong here. We demand that the Trump Administration stop the raids on meatpacking plants, farms and other agricultural facilities.

The residents on and around the 5500 block of Redwood St. live with regular car accidents and property loss that I believe can be lessened by a modest investment on the part of the city. The issue is an uninterrupted straightaway that encourages reckless speeding up a hill toward an elementary school (formerly Carver). Our community wants speed bumps, extra stop signs, and bolder traffic signs in this area.

1) If reference is made to a bill or document , include a link to the official text of that bill or document. 2) Make sure the facts are accurate and not exaggerations, provide references to the facts. 3) Let signors know to whom the petition will be sent, when and how it will be delivered, and how many signatures are included. 4) Let signors know that legislators will pay more attention to handwritten letters, personal phone calls, visits to their office, than the easy method of a quick internet click. 5) Many people are overwhelmed by the number of petitions filling their inboxes, so they are prone to ignore even the most important issues, so keep petitions to those that are absolutely necessary. 6) When using a petition to inform the general public of an issue, make sure there is enough reliable factual background information to understand the importance of the issue and its impact. 7) Provide the signors with the factual results by the target or impact of the petition on the target or response of the target of the petition, in otherwords, follow up, feedback.
