  • Protect the Protectors
Dear Arizona MoveOn member, In America, professionals who work hard to protect abused children and assist clients that struggle with mental health issues, and poverty, should be honored. Imagine having people's safety in your hands, working long hours, being On Call 24-7, functioning under strict ethical and intellectual standards for practice, and then not get paid. Unfortunately some of us have experienced working and yet were unpaid even though the agency was paid, as contracted with the government. There are newsworthy reports re: need for increase staff and pay for CPS staff...But NO ONE has paid attention to individual contracted professionals in that field that are already over-worked and underpaid, and unknowingly are at high risk for ZERO PAY for work already rendered. The corporations can rake in millions of dollars each year even though complaints of their failure to use funding appropriately, particularly to pay staff, has been communicated to authorities. No apparent consequence for what the common person would label as a crime of theft, and no viable way to protect unsuspecting future victims (job seekers). We, the undersigned, support protection for ALL social service workers, particularly contract workers, and demand that state officials respond to white-collar crime now! Protect the most honorable of professions.

  • NY State Senator Marisol Alcantara - Stop violating our 1st Amendment rights!
To all NY District 31 Residents, One day, I got to talking with a few constituents around my neighborhood...and discovered we had something in common. Something big, something unjust, and something with potential legal implications for our NY State Senator, Marisol Alcantara. First a brief backstory on Marisol Alcantara: She ran as a Democrat, and upon election turned her back on the Democratic Party, giving full control of Albany to Republicans, and a dangerous Trump agenda (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5mESf-kjuSI). By caucusing with the Republican Party in Albany, she prevented important legislation on protection for immigrants, school funding, healthcare for all NY, LGBTQ & women’s rights, and so much more from actually becoming law (https://medium.com/@achangnyc/25-groundbreaking-bills-passed-by-the-new-york-assembly-but-blocked-in-new-york-senate-fe69642b0a51). Most recently, Marisol has been caught taking hundreds of thousands in shady campaign money, and was ordered to return it (she has not returned it yet) (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/24/nyregion/idc-klein-primary-campaign-finance-ny.html?smprod=nytcore-ipad&smid=nytcore-ipad-share). She’s one of 8 Trump Democrats in New York, who sold us out for money. If I didn’t live here, I wouldn’t even believe this story; sadly it is true. And if that weren’t enough, I’ve discovered that Marisol, in her bid for re-election in one month, is silencing the voices of her constituents. She’s deleting questions and responses on Facebook. Blocking members from her Public Profile on Facebook. Blocking followers of her official Twitter account @NY31Alcantara. And all of them are constituents. This is a blatant attack on our 1st Amendment rights. Many of you have spoken up to say you’re also victims. I’m asking you now to formally add your name to our petition to demand Marisol Alcantara stop violating our 1st Amendment rights. I’m in contact with lawyers about a possible class action suit against her. The lawsuit Twitter Users won against Donald Trump, gives us a substantial foundation (Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, et al. v. Donald Trump, et al., 1:17-cv-05205-NRB). If you’d like to join the lawsuit, DM me @1stAmendment31. Thank you for signing this petition and standing up for our 1st Amendment rights, and please share widely. Time is short with one month until the election — and on that note, remember to Vote Robert Jackson on Thursday September 13th! • MEMBERS OF CONGRESS – WE WILL REMEMBER IN 2026
We are paying close attention to your legislative decisions and believe it is a great time to remind our elected officials of our power.  We are the 65+ voters, and roughly 75% of us turned out in 2024, along with our family, colleagues, and friends of all ages.   In 2025 alone, Congress acted in a manner that showed reckless and often cruel legislative behavior, with utter disregard for protecting the agencies, programs, and services Americans have relied on for years, and ignored the needs of retirees and older Americans by failing to legislate favorably for them.  What is America today but a nation with vast and profound, ingrained, and systemic problems, a society concentrated on opposing extremes?   But interestingly enough, there is widespread sentiment among Americans across political ideologies that our nation's massive bureaucratic structure requires significant attention and reform, and contrary to the belief of some of our elected officials, we are smart enough to know that such change not only involves bipartisanship, but the serious work collaboration requires, and we yearn for it.  Nevertheless, after years of pervasive problems, you chose to implement policies at breakneck speed rather than enact legislation with scholarly intent, using rigorous, evidence-based policy development in which expert research should have guided its formation.  Instead, in some severe instances, you allowed executive orders, while legal, to serve as a band-aid for your failure to do the business of Congress.  More distressing, Congress has generally ceased to legislate with fairness and humanity in mind, with members often serving themselves or their political donors, forgetting that they are in place to serve their constituents.  We've had enough.  We expect you to fix our country's problems and create laws and policies that reflect the values most dear to us: dignity, fairness, respect, and integrity, which protect our individual and collective rights, ensure government accountability, and promote the best interests of all our citizens, but sadly, there is a preponderance of evidence that informs that our government is stagnant in many ways which has led to inaction.  —We are sick of Congress kicking pressing issues down the road year after year, and agree with the substantial body of evidence indicating that Congress is more ideologically polarized than the American people.  We may suffer from affective polarization, distrusting one another based on party affiliation; however, the real extreme ideological divide is among yourselves, so you are unable to do the job we hired you to do.    EXHIBIT A – In 1977 and 1983, the Social Security Act amendments placed the insolvency burden on American workers.  You saw the warning signs decades ago – you knew about the long-term funding shortfall, and you still haven't taken action.   EXHIBIT B – You also had early warnings about Medicare's financial condition in the mid-1970s, and perhaps even at its inception.  Sure, you tried to extend the program's life through legislation, but that did not rectify the impending financial crisis.    EXHIBIT C – You've recently attempted to pull the wool over our eyes by claiming that the Medicaid issue is fundamentally an "illegal immigration" problem, which neglects to inform that millions of Americans rely on their dual eligibility for Medicare and Medicaid, with older Americans making up the majority of the dual-eligible population.   EXHIBIT D – Many of you have talked the talk, but not walked the walk.  You say you care, but you did not inform the American people that severe cuts to healthcare and nutrition programs will have cascading effects that harm our nation and our states, hurt providers and insurers, increase insurance premiums, and undermine the overall health of our people.   EXHIBIT E – We are living in an America where a 2025 bill to enhance the Older Americans Act has been sitting in the Senate HELP Committee since June 2025 without receiving the momentous bipartisan approval it deserves.  Are you actively at work trying to tell us you don't genuinely care about our health, prosperity, and dignity?  It sure feels like that.    Therefore, let's be vividly clear.   We urge you to legislate to rectify the many problems facing our great nation and stop the partisan divide causing political gridlock, eroding trust in our institutions, elevating social division and animosity among our citizens, and do the crucial and essential work to stop the misinformation fueled by partisan media and the algorithms on social media that exacerbate the problem.    Sincerely,    We the People

  • Trump's power grab threatens science - we need your help
I am writing as your constituent to ask that you act decisively to oppose the Trump administration's illegal freeze of federal funds for programs, research, and science in our state. Every day, federally funded science saves lives, improves health, and strengthens our communities. Those resources go to our local schools, hospitals, and universities. The Trump administration's chaotic attempts to defund science by withdrawing taxpayers dollars already approved by Congress threatens our state. When science is sidelined, people get hurt. The Trump administration's actions threaten families' access to life-saving medicines. They threaten cutting-edge research and grants that protect our land, air, and water. They threaten support for some of our neighbors that they rely on day-by-day, if not hour-by-hour. The Trump administration has no right to seize, redirect or delay congressionally approved funding for essential and life-saving science, research, and programs. That is true however and wherever the Trump administration attempts this illegal power grab now, or in the future. The President has been clear that he thinks that he alone should get to decide how every single American taxpayer dollar is spent, and that he won’t stop trying to exercise that power wherever he is allowed to do so. Congress should take decisive action right now to firmly and permanently reject that overreach, and to ensure that resources committed to science and research will continue to benefit the people in our state and for which it was intended.

  • Fire RFK Jr. NOW!
RFK Jr. was never fit to be Department of Health and Human Services secretary—and his failed leadership since his confirmation has put lives in danger. From destabilizing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to spreading harmful misinformation to undermining our access to vital vaccines, Secretary Kennedy has betrayed his position and the American people. Secretary Kennedy must be fired or impeached from office before he can cause further damage!

  • Tell The Trump Administration That ALL Children Should Benefit from 4-H Programming
In small towns and rural communities, we take care of ALL our kids. That’s why 4-H programs must be open and affirming to all vulnerable populations, including LGBTQ youth. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue must reinstate 4-H’s guidances welcoming LGBTQ children.

  • Tell Starbucks: We want our lattes without the Trump aftertaste
We are Starbucks customers and we're we are asking you to relocate your stores that are in buildings named after Donald Trump. Trump has attacked women, people of color, Muslims and immigrants in the media and he has incited violence at his campaign rallies. His actions are un-American and they go against the progressive values that Starbucks has come to stand for. We love our lattes and we want them without a Trump aftertaste. Please dump Trump now!

  • Tell Richard Burr: Stop Fundraising Off Trump's Racism and Bigotry
It is hypocritical for Republicans to denounce Donald Trump while using his name to raise money for their campaigns. If North Carolina Senator Richard Burr wants to represent our state's values, he should stop accepting financial support raised in Trump's name from the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
