This petition is to demand Mayor Michael A. Nutter and Council President, Darrell L Clarke to establish a Director of Veterans Affairs Office in the County/City of Philadelphia, with the responsibility to increase rates of recovery paid by the VA to Pennsylvania veterans, expand training opportunities for designated Veteran Service Officers, and increase either the number or percentage of Philadelphia veterans and spouses receiving their earned benefits and preferences.

The Holy BIBLE is the one book that has unified our faith as a nation in the living God. Microsoft has announced that it is discontinuing support of its products, Windows XP and Office 2003, and urges everyone to buy its newest products. Microsoft says that failure to do so "might" result in risks to your computer and operating system; this multi-billion dollar company says it is doing so because it needs to support its newer products, implying that it cannot do both(!).

The Obama Administration should remove bureaucratic obstacles for travel to Cuba by all Americans, granting general licenses for non-tourist purposes. Every travel agent and tour operator must be allowed to book authorized flights, programs and accommodations.

The US Postal Service is the only business or government agency required to prefund their retiree benefits 75 years in advance at a cost of $5.5 billion dollars a year for a 10 year period. This needs to stop immediately. It is bankrupting a 235 year old quasi government/quasi business. The financial problems of the postal service are a "smoke and mirrors" manufactured crisis by Congress and the media. The postal service is not broken and does not need to be fixed. It simply needs the tweaking of laws that place restrictions on it from competing.

Now is the time to pass just and compassionate immigration reform. I know that there is enough support in Congress for immigration reform and ask that you allow H.R. 15 to get to a vote. Please support a comprehensive immigration reform that: • Provides a path to citizenship for undocumented persons in this country • Makes preserving family unity the cornerstone of our national immigration system • Provides legal paths for low-skilled immigrant workers to come and work in the United States • Protects from retaliation undocumented workers and family members who are defending civil, labor, and human rights According to several studies, 71 Percent of Americans Favor Immigration Reform. With the focus of the political world now shifted toward the 2014 elections, new polls show that a majority of voters across the country – including in 12 key battleground states – will hold elected officials accountable at the ballot box if they do not support immigration reform. More than half of Americans – 54 percent – said they were less likely to support an elected official who opposed reform, compared with just 17 percent who were more likely to support a reform opponent. I look forward to monitoring your public position on this vital issue. Our nation cannot wait any longer. Please put families over politics. and support H.R. 15, Speaker Boehner. Please also encourage Majority Leader Eric Cantor to join you in allowing H.R. 15 to go up for a vote. I vote YES for immigration reform. I expect you to do the same.

We the undersigned believe that the federal minimum wage, now at $7.25 an hour, should be raised to $15.00 an hour. Had the minimum wage of 1968 been adjusted for inflation, it would be well above $10.00 an hour today. Productivity has also risen considerably since 1968: The typical worker is almost twice as productive today as he or she was then. Adjusted for both inflation and productivity gains, therefore, the minimum wage should be at least $15.00 an hour.
