URGENT: Delay in-person voting in WisconsinIf Wisconsin lawmakers don’t act now -- and postpone the in-person voting planned for this coming Tuesday -- many voters will be forced to choose between risking their health and giving up their right to vote. Americans nationwide urge these lawmakers to protect voters’ rights AND their wellbeing by delaying all in-person voting -- and providing alternate options for every voter to cast their ballot safely.213 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Common Cause

Interview slotsSubject: Petition for Opening Fall Semester Interview Dates for Prospective Students Dear Ambassador, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you as a concerned prospective student for the fall semester in Universities in the United States. It has come to our attention that students who have already paid their SEVIS and MRV fees are facing difficulties in obtaining interview dates within their program start period. As aspiring students, we have eagerly prepared ourselves for the opportunity to commence our academic journey in the upcoming fall semester. However, the unavailability of interview dates is causing significant delays and jeopardizing our chances of starting classes on time alongside our fellow students. Therefore, we, the undersigned, kindly request your immediate intervention in resolving this issue. By opening up more interview slots and ensuring efficient scheduling, you can enable students to complete their interviews in a timely manner and join their respective universities without further delay. This would greatly contribute to the smooth functioning of the fall semester and allow us to fully immerse ourselves in our chosen educational pursuits. We understand the complexities and challenges faced by the embassy in managing the visa application process. However, we humbly appeal for your understanding and urge you to prioritize the allocation of interview dates for prospective students who have fulfilled all the necessary requirements. By doing so, you will facilitate our seamless integration into the academic community and provide us with the opportunity to contribute to the diverse and vibrant educational landscape in the United States. We believe that by addressing this matter promptly and effectively, you will not only alleviate the anxieties and uncertainties faced by students but also uphold the reputation of the embassy as a facilitator of academic pursuits and cultural exchange. Thank you for your attention to this pressing matter, and we remain hopeful for a positive resolution. We eagerly anticipate your prompt action in opening fall semester interview dates for prospective students. Your support will enable us to embark on our educational journeys and fulfill our aspirations. Yours sincerely, Enclosures: List of signatures from concerned prospective students112 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Richard Norsi

Sign the petition: Tell the FTC to investigate Amazon’s Roomba takeover!Amazon’s acquisition of iRobot’s Roomba is just the latest example of the Tech Giant’s sweeping, unchecked, monopoly grip on our economy and our lives. But at a time when Amazon’s Ring camera have already created a private surveillance dragnet – that’s often shared with local law enforcement – Amazon’s Roomba takeover will allow Amazon to map the inside of people’s homes. We demand the FTC investigate and block Amazon’s takeover of Roomba!3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Challenge Joni Ernst to the People's PledgeSenate candidate Bruce Braley: Challenge Republican Joni Ernst to join you in signing the People's Pledge, the popular agreement negotiated by Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown in their 2012 Senate race to reject advertisements from outside donors on their behalf. If Ernst is truly committed to the people of Iowa, she'll join you. If she doesn't, voters will see that she's actually committed to the Koch brothers and their network of out-of-state billionaire extreme right-wing conservatives.193 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Brian Stewart

"Support Affordable Homes, Build Stronger Communities—Join Us Today!"Support for the 24-Unit TND Project at 43rd and Mission Road – Economic Benefits Without Taxpayer Burden. Dear Wyandotte County Commissioners and fellow community members: I am writing to express my strong support for the 24-unit Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) project at **43rd and Mission Road**, a site that has remained vacant for over two decades. This project offers significant economic and community benefits while aligning with the county’s strategic goals for growth and revitalization. Please see a link to our community presentation by clicking here. • No Taxpayer Burden – Funded Through LIHTC • One of the key advantages of this project is that it will be financed using Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), meaning there will be no financial burden on local taxpayers. The LIHTC program allows private investment in affordable housing developments without the need for public funding, making it a fiscally responsible solution to address the county's housing shortage. No Industrial Revenue Bonds that might short-change the county and city tax rolls. • Immediate and increased Property Tax Revenue • The revitalization of 43rd and Mission Road site will generate immediate and increased property tax revenue. For over 30 years, this property has contributed little to the county's tax base, but the new development will bring significant value, benefiting both the local government and public services. This increase in property taxes will further contribute to the county's ability to fund essential services and improvements. • Boost in BPU Revenue • As new residents move into the development, there will be a corresponding increase in **utility usage**—particularly for water and electricity—resulting in additional revenue for the **Board of Public Utilities (BPU)**. This project not only provides housing but also contributes to the financial health of local utilities. • Revitalizing Long-Neglected Property • The corner of 43rd and Mission Road has remained an underutilized asset for far too long. By transforming this vacant lot into much-needed affordable housing, the project will breathe new life into the area, supporting the county’s broader vision of urban revitalization while efficiently utilizing existing infrastructure. The staff recommended TND zoning will allow for efficient use of the land and promote sustainability and walkability in the neighborhood. The project could also draw attentional attention to the cross-town light rail plan for the 43rd Street corridor. This project provides a unique opportunity to address Wyandotte County’s pressing need for affordable housing, increase property tax revenue, and boost utility revenues—all without placing any additional burden on taxpayers. I respectfully urge the Commission to approve and support this transformative development. Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration. Wrongfully ConvictedMy son name is Darmen Taylor He is now 20 years old he was charged when he was 16. Then he was bonded over at 17 the judge stated he could not be rehabilitated in the juvenile system. Because he had counseling when he was ten. During the same time one of the alleged victims wrote a letter to the judge starting that her mom put her up to this. She was took to the detective by her aunt and wrote another statement. The judge asked her did she right it she stated no and they bonded him over. Then we are getting ready for trial. These charges came about when my friend for 15 years was sleeping with my son. In turn she called the police and said he raped her two daughters. Now in the mean time I found out that 3 other adults we're sleeping with my son before all these charges came up. I called rape crisis they told me that I would have to call the police or they would. I did. But nothing was done. The prosecutor on the case stated that my son manipulated the mother to get to her children. He has been around this family since he was 3 or 4 years old. Then the lawyer leaves me out of the court room because I have to testify and the aunt of the alleged victims. But he put no one on the stand. Then they found my son guilty of 2 of the three charges of rape. He did not have a far trial. Then the lawyer says the judge is going to send my son to jail for 45 years to life and say he need to take a plea or I will never see my son again. He told my son that he would not do anything but 10 years and will be out in 5 and it wasn't a mandatory sentence. But it was all a lie he was sentence to 20 years mandatory. Its so much to this story please help my son please!41 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dawatha Davis
