To: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the negligent handling of the Boyne River Dam by Boyne Mountain Resort, as documented by the Friends of the Boyne River (FOBR). We urge FERC to deny the current permit application submitted by Boyne Mountain Resort(Boyne USA) for the following reasons: 1. Environmental Degradation: • The dam’s mismanagement has led to significant sedimentation, smothering spawning habitats and causing a catastrophic collapse of macroinvertebrates, which are crucial for the river’s ecosystem. • The river flow regulations have not been followed, resulting in harmful spikes in river flow and sediment deposits in lower gradient sections of the river and severely diminished water quality. 2. Impact on Wildlife: • The Boyne River’s fish populations, including salmon, steelhead, and trout, are suffering due to the degraded water quality and smothered spawning habitats. • In 2024, no steelhead or brown trout were stocked by MDNR in the Boyne River due to sedimentation issues caused by the construction at the dam. MDNR is prepared to cut this stocking again in 2025 if the sedimentation issues are not resolved. Two years of not stocking these fish will significantly impact the angler community on the Boyne River as a whole. 3. Lack of Public Access: • Despite the last license calling for boat access for public use and safety reasons, Boyne Mountain Resort has not complied, arguing it would be too costly. Yet, they now seek to dredge the pond for private recreational purposes and further degrade the area by importing sand to create an unnatural private beach for a proposed resort.  4. Public Accountability: • The approval process for the current permit application lacked acceptable public informal notice, raising questions about transparency and accountability.

And our USPS Postal CPU Substation is scheduled to be terminated 120 days from the letter send (date sent June 2, 2025). Rankos Stadium Pharmacy independently operates the USPS Postal Substation within our store.  We pay for the operations, training, staffing, ordering, renting, upkeep, and generally do all we can to provide excellent mailing services to our community. We do NOT accept termination of our agreement.  We serve people who need our mailing and postal services and we are committed to decreasing all barriers to equitable access to our care and the services we provide. This is a SERVICE.  We do it to serve our community.  We are committed to assuring all concerns are addressed and people with any access issues, limitations, anyone in the local area, has access to a local, postal station. Join our fight for community access to mailing services at our over 75 year postal substation so we can continue to serve the underserved, provide care and mailing services, and not just be eliminated with no consideration. No, we simply do not accept being "terminated" and we are going to fight for what's right...We are going to fight to keep our substation and continue to serve our community. We need your help!  We find this abhorrent. In the final hours of the House debate on SB 737, - the payday lending bill which originally capped interest rates was changed to focus on a set of industry sponsored "reforms". These provisions are actually worse than the status quo since the new measures embed payday lending in new parts of the Hawaii state laws making it that much harder to make real reform later. Please pass a 36% cap on pay day lending - if it is good for military families its good for local working families too!

Please eliminate NorthWestern Energy overcharges for street lighting and use refunded money to finance, without the need for tax or electricity rate increases, conversion to energy efficient LED street lighting.

Demand that the House Foreign Affairs Services Committee hold a hearing on Trump's Saudi arms deal.

President Obama, we urge you to reconsider your administration’s support for coal-fired power in the Four Corners region. It is a legacy unfit for any leader, much less the leadership of a country once considered pioneers in technological and environmental innovation. This extension condemns another generation to a quarter century of poor air and water quality and degraded public health. It is an economic gamble that robs the region of the opportunity to invest in a foundation for a clean and economically sustainable energy future. Supporting investment in a dying and dangerous industry, instead of a clean and growing one, is shortsighted and foolish.

Outgoing Gov. Dan Malloy has decided that after 7 ½ years in office, he wants to put $10 million on the state taxpayers’ credit card to study the issue of tolls in Connecticut. Now is the time to stop this madness!
