Justice for Lamar!  Lamar Taylor was a business owner, family man and most importantly, a man of God. Converting his life to God, Lamar made strides to change his life from his troubled past, helping others and servicing his community. Lamar hasn’t had any issues with the law for 15 years! Creating job opportunities for the desiring and even felons in need of guidance and employment opportunities, amidst of serving delicious soul food. Residing in Colorado Springs, customers from all over Colorado supported “The Union”s Catering business. However, in defending the life of his loved ones, employees and himself he was sentenced to double life with an additional 16 years with no chance of probation.  Lamar had 12 witnesses who could testify in his favor and not 1 was called to the stand in his defense. Lamar isn’t asking for further representation and/or donations of any sort. All he is asking for is a fair trial. Allow his witnesses to speak on his behalf and on the misbehavior(s) of the supposed victims. Allow the evidence to be fully disclosed. The acts of harassment, breach of contract and extortion are notable “misbehaviors” that will uncover if witnesses testify.  We believe a formal petition will give Lamar a fighting chance during his appeal process. God has a plan for Lamar. Double life defending his loved ones is not God’s plan. We will be heard. Justice for Lamar!

Speaker Mark-Viverito: The People’s Climate March will be the largest march for climate change and global warming awareness in the history of the United States. In addition to the thousands of New Yorkers who will attend the march, tens of thousands more will travel to our city from all across the country. Given that the City Council recently passed a resolution endorsing the People’s Climate March, we the undersigned call on the City Council to demonstrate their support by allowing for Free Public Transit within the city on September 21, 2014. Providing New Yorkers and guests this one day of free travel will reduce traffic and associated emissions, allow for a smoother flow of foot traffic and attract more people to the march. If the City of Boston can allow for free travel on New Year’s Eve, the City of New York can do the same for one of the most important events for our climate in history. Therefore, we beseech you to act immediately. Thank You

We must invest heavily in new infrastructure for our country. We need to fix dilapitated bridges, crumbling sewer lines, old gas lines, etc. Not only is this "preventive action", but it will create thousands of jobs.

It is time for Governor Jerry Brown to ban fracking in California.

Americans deserve regulations that put our safety first and that of our towns, not the profits of big oil. Protect communities from dangerous oil by rail by improving tank cars, regulating speed limits, limiting flammable materials, improving emergency notification systems and letting communities say no to oil trains going through their communities.
