We must end the practice of anonymous shell companies -- this common tool for dodging taxes is also used by criminals like narco-traffickers to launder money. We must do everything in our power to stop the flow of cheap opioids that takes such a toll on the Commonwealth and our communities. Lend your public support to the Incorporation Transparency and Law Enforcement Assistance Act, and take action to stop anonymous companies from being formed here in Massachusetts.

As leaders in the law enforcement community, we are concerned that the federal criminal justice system is slowly being dismantled and that some legislative proposals would recklessly dismantle it further. We want to make clear that we OPPOSE any legislation that will: (1) Reduce penalties for violent offenders or drug traffickers or make those already convicted eligible for early release; (2) Change federal forfeiture law to make it harder to strip drug dealers and other criminals of their ill-gotten gains; or (3) Undermine the very successful asset sharing program, which currently sends money to state and local law enforcement for use in fighting crime.

We appeal to you to use your executive authority to grant recently arrived and still arriving Central American and Mexican Children and Families refugee status, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or deferred action status.

But Pfizer has priced the drug, on which it holds a monopoly, at over 40 times its actual cost, and insurance companies won't reimburse the full amount. So doctors across the United States have stopped providing vaccines, endangering the lives of infants, children, elderly and the immune-deficient. Pfizer, stop making money off the backs of our children -- make Prevnar affordable now!

We oppose bill HB 399, the proposed amendment to the Kentucky state constitution that would allow localities to hold referendums on whether to levy an incremental sales tax for "special projects". Sales taxes are regressive, as they take a greater percentage of income from lower income people than those with higher incomes. There are less regressive ways for localities to raise revenues.

Congress: Please act to prohibit banks from charging customers to borrow our money; mandate that banks close the chasm between the amount of money they accept to open accounts and their minimum balance requirements (which is often a gap of over $1,000), and prohibit the banks' abusive practice of charging NSF fees on overdrafts that their Minimum Balance and other "service" fees create. These practices are abusive to Americans, specifically lower-income Americans, especially during times of economic crisis. The banks use these practices to wrest a steady stream of ill-gotten money from the people who can least afford it. Other businesses are prevented by law from engaging in such unsavory practices. It is time to bring the banks into line.

We urge the Amherst Town Council to amend the Town Manager's budget scheduled for a vote on July 20th by reducing the Police Department's Budget by 52% ($2,677,892). Furthermore, we support the full demands put forward by Defund 413 Amherst.

Ahmaud Arbery was a young Black man who was barbarically shot and killed by Gregory and Travis McMichael. Because of your inaction and affiliation with the McMichael's and recommendations to the Glynn County police that we have to see an arrest or accountability for Ahmaud's murder. Any attempt to use self-defense or citizen's arrest statute as justification is a weak attempt to cover-up this injustice. We are looking at you to take responsibility for the large role you played in delaying justice for Ahmaud. We are calling on you to resign immediately.

Los Gatos students, alumni and locals were not adequately involved in the decision to approve artificial turf on Helm Field and all other sport fields. Grass on LGHS’s football field, Helm Field, should be reinstalled after renovations.
