We request that our Senators, TIM KAINE and MARK WARNER, oppose the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) by joining in the filibuster of the nomination and by taking other appropriate action as needed. Judge Gorsuch's nomination should not be confirmed because: 1) given his conservative judicial philosophy, he will likely be a regressive voice on the Court, limiting civil rights and environmental and worker protections, allowing corporate interests to supersede employee rights, and preventing campaign finance reform, and 2) Republicans, contrary to their Constitutional duty, denied Judge Merrick Garland (who was nominated to SCOTUS by President Obama by right and obligation) a hearing and a vote, and they should not be rewarded for their misconduct.

Jackson’s Law will write into Kentucky legislation the right of private school students at home to participate in public school sports programs, without additional, unnecessary oversight by the school district. Students wishing to participate would be required to meet all the same physical and academic standards as public school students, and a simple letter written by the parent or guardian of the student which states the student is passing all subjects and progressing towards graduation is all that would be required for record submission. This letter by the parent or guardian would be submitted to the principal at the public school where the student is eligible to play at regular report-card intervals (nine-week intervals in most Kentucky schools) during the semester the student wishes to play. Private school at home students will not be discriminated against for participation by coaches or school officials.

Schools in Florida (K-12 & Universities) should be enabled to hire more psychologists and funds should be allocated specifically for hiring these professionals. Florida’s pattern is under-funding school psychologists.

We petition the PDGA to withdraw their support of Lemon Lake and the Svitkos including rescinding their designation as the Midwest PDGA Disc Golf Development Center. We further petition the PDGA to partner with the Red ROC Disc Golf Club at Lemon Lake as we spent 14 years building the 4 Championship courses as well as a multitude of other area courses.
