Toll Brothers, a real estate developer, agreed in writing with the Brooklyn, NY community to limit the height of their luxury condo/hotel building, The Pierhouse, right next to the Brooklyn Bridge. They agreed to build only to 100ft but are now building to 130ft, blocking the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Unfortunately, neither the Mayor nor the Governor, both of whom received large campaign contributions from Toll Brothers and/or real estate developers, has said anything to Toll Brothers about reducing the height of the building to adhere to the agreement they signed.

Human survival depends on the survival of the Arctic and the many animals, birds, insects and environments there. The responsibility to protect and defend belongs to all human beings. Education, empathy, compassion and awareness of the devastation of the Polar Caps and the drowning of Polar bears and their cubs should alert us all to the need to act NOW! In the name of humanity, the environment and the many creatures who inhabit this earth ACT NOW!

Renewable energy now! Solar and wind farms now! Biomass energy now!

The mentally ill are legally defined, if not written word then in fact, as at best 2nd class citizens. In reality, we are at most 3rd class citizens. There exists today absolutely no legal protection of any value that keeps employers and others from overt discrimination and savage harassment. Yes, there is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), but it was gutted by the US Supreme Court. That has resulted in the mentally ill being at best a fringe element in American Society, open to the most savage and obscene discrimination. We are Americans. Such blunt and outright bigotry should never be tolerated.

In 2006, my son shot his stepfather in the head, then shot his mother twice in the heart, then shot himself five days later, placing the barrel of the collapsible AK 47 between his lips after returning to my home where he had grown up. As well as the human deaths and trauma to the community, it cost tax payers of New Mexico enormous sums of money for the manhunt that ensued with SWAT teams, packs of dogs and helicopters after the initial killings took place. America has the highest rate of gun related deaths per capita of any industrialized country in the modern world. The frequency of mass killings in our country has been increasing dramatically, often involving assault weapons. Of the 30,470 firearm-related deaths in the United States in 2010, 19,392 (63.6%) were suicide deaths, and 11,078 (36.4%) homicide deaths. (National Center for Health Statistics, CDC. 2010) New Mexicans and all Americans should be supporting stricter gun laws that eliminate the availability of assault weapons in our communities. Assault weapons are designed specifically for killing human beings and should be illegal in our civilian population.

To encourage State Legislatures to set up their own State Banks.

Take all violent commercials off all sports games any time of day or night, and before 10pm on regular cable and TV programming. This should include movie trailers and video game products.

Require all politicians running for any political office at all levels of government including Federal, State and local to under go a complete mental evaluation.

The Social Security system was established to set up a retirement fund for folks too old to work and be a producing member of the society. The federal government of elected officials who are to represent the Peoples interest has become corrupt and have used this money for their own ends.... The interest accrued from the use of the Citizens (not subjects!) money for retirement was not added to our accounts. This money is non-taxable yet the federal government has allowed or overlooked the Internal Revenue Service's attacks on it to pay taxes on labor which is unconstitutional!! There never has been a law passed by Congress to state that labor is taxable and mandated by law to be paid!! So representatives of the citizens of these United States heed this redress of grievence! We the People have had enough of the misuse of funds belonging to the citizens of these United States and demand corrective action locking all loopholes from government tampering!! Exempt Social Security from any more misspending of monies not belonging to or allocated to the governing parties!!
